Sound enhancements - The following mods enhance the sounds/music for Doom. May work on everything else but need heavy modification into their files. ZDoom-specific - Those mods only run on ZDoom and its deratives (e.g GZDoom, QZDoom). It might be possible to run those mods on DOS, but additional tweaks and a DOS-specific source port are required. Limit-removing (can't think of a better name honestly) - Those mods work on most source ports, except for some like Chocolate Doom and base DOS game. Vanilla-compatible - Those mods work properly on all source ports. Here is an example of what a part/catagory will look like:

This post will of course, assumed that you have experienced quite a while in Doom modding and knows how to loading mods. The purpose of this post is to make said topic easier to search. Mods I have installed now with (Starbound 1.In celebration of a new year (or new decade I should say), (and because I'm bored honestly), I decided to create a list of enhancement mods (or minimods) for Doom, mostly inspired from an article from Chocolate Doom wiki. If anyone know some, please comment!
Make sure you use the overpowered stuff not all the time (it kinda ruins the game).

Literaly install everything you want, make sure there is no conflicts though. If you do that, every discovery, like new planets, random dungeons, she will be like "this shit's cool af", but if you go super fast through content she'll just get bored you don't really play with her. If you let the content flow slowly (not go on a frenzy doing all FU lab quests cuz she will get annoyed there is so many) you will both enjoy the game and have a great time. Don't rush quests, try to prevent yourself from rushing FU content (making overpowered armors and guns too fast and stomping the game). Take your time, stay on first planet for some time (make farms, make cool buildings). How to get her to play without overwhelming her with FU stuff and all that : Thats because I knew we would do 1 long ass playthrough and I wanted everything in there (she would not want to play hours of vanilla, then restart everything with mods). I had already finished game alone once, but we started a brand new game (fresh universe and all that), I decided to slap FU along with some other mods (>100 in total). TL DR : I played Starbound with my ( grill friend) too, you can install FU and many mods, just make her play the game without overwhelming her (if she never played it / is kind of casual gamer). Part 1 : advice to play with grill friend :
